Demand for Gluten-free Certification Continues to Rise

Throughout 2021, Gluten Intolerance Group’s Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO), one of the world’s leading gluten-free certification programs, certified 2,045 products from 171 brands, helping consumer packaged goods manufacturers meet the growing demand for products verified as gluten-free. Gluten-free consumers around the world put their faith in products bearing the recognizable GFCO mark that certifies the product contains 10 parts per million (ppm) of gluten or less, which is twice as strict as the FDA’s standard. The distinctive GFCO mark has become a symbol of trust that reduces the need for gluten-free consumers to read labels in order to confirm a product is safe to use or consume. GFCO has certified more than 60,000 products globally.

Categories achieving GFCO’s stringent safety requirements during 2021 included a wide variety of pastas, salsas, snacks, condiments, baked goods and ingredients, trail mixes, desserts, fruit bars and supplements. The following products were certified by GFCO in 2021:
