Sweet-Salty Combo
Kellogg Company, Battle Creek, Mich., introduced Club Crisps Sweet & Salty, a new addition to the 90-year-old Club Crisps brand.

"With trending sweet and savory snacks on the rise, we saw the perfect opportunity to bring a unique twist and seasonal offering to the Club Crisps line," said Zach Wyer, director of brand marketing, Kellogg's Crackers. "Our innovation team worked to combine the perfect mix of sweet brown sugar and savory salt crystals to excite and delight taste buds, and we're thrilled to share it in this new thin and crispy bite-size format."

Available for a limited time only this spring, Club Crisps Sweet & Salty is the first-ever sweet and savory flavor within the expansive Club Crackers portfolio. Kellogg says the new wavy crisps are baked light and thin with a “balance of sweet, caramelized flavored sugar and savory pop of salt.” Club Crisps Sweet & Salty joins the existing Club Crisps line, which includes Sea Salt and Ranch flavors.

Allergy Friendly
Already known for its gluten-free New York-style bagels, The Greater Knead, Bensalem, Pa., last fall extended into snacks with soft pretzel nuggets. Most recently, the company used Natural Products Expo West to introduce a new flavor as well.

"After working close to a year to perfect the soft pretzel nuggets, our newest effort to recreate nostalgic foods delivers the warm, doughy, tasty satisfaction of pretzels that folks with food allergies haven't been able to enjoy. Our gluten-free and top-9 allergen-free pretzels are truly for everyone, so families of those with allergies can all indulge and eat confidently, together," said Michelle Carfagno, CEO and founder of The Greater Knead.

Varieties include Classic, Everything, Cinnamon Sugar and Spicy Buffalo (newest). They go from the freezer into the oven or air fryer for just six to eight minutes. The nuggets also are Non-GMO Project Verified, certified gluten-free, top 9 allergen-free, vegan, and kosher, officials say.

Margarita Time!
Pretzel Pete, Inc., Hatboro, Pa., introduced Margarita seasoned mini twist pretzels as a new seasonal, limited-edition snack.

“Having weathered a long, hard winter we are all looking forward to the start of warmer weather and the fun summer holidays,” said Pretzel Pete’s President and Founder, Karl Brown. “In that fun spirit we are pleased to introduce our Margarita-seasoned Mini Twists. This pretzel with its distinctive lime and salt flavor is as delicious as it is unique.”

Starting in late March, the new offering was available on the company website www.pretzelpete.com, Amazon and in select retailers. The pretzels come in 6oz bags and carry a SRP of $3.99.

Salted Caramel
Lundberg Family Farms, Richvale, Calif., expanded its rice cake line with a new Salted Caramel flavor.

“At Lundberg Family Farms, we cater to a need for wholesome, great-tasting snacks,” said Susan Shields, vice president of marketing. “We know rice cake consumers are craving caramel and we’re proud to offer them the only option on the shelf made with real caramel. It’s also the only caramel rice cake made with crunchy, organic, whole grain brown rice so consumers can have their cake and eat well too.”

In addition to featuring real caramel, Lundberg’s Salted Caramel Rice Cakes also are organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, certified gluten-free, vegan, kosher, and whole grain. Lundberg Salted Caramel Rice Cakes are available to order directly from the farm at shop.lundberg.com starting June 1st, and subsequently rolling out to grocery stores nationwide, at an MSRP of $4.69.

Snack Pack!
Known for its “flavor wrapped” popcorn kernels, Opopop Inc., Denver, introduced Peel + Pour Popcorn Cups.

Officials say Peel + Pour Popcorn Cups are easy to make quick batches in Opopop's reusable silicone microwave popping bowl. They are available for purchase online in four exclusive flavors: Salty Caramel, Like Buddahh, Vanilla Vanilla, and Lightly Salted.

"Here at Opopop, we are on a mission to reinvent America's favorite snack. By combining unexpected flavor profiles with new ways to pop, we are creating a popcorn revolution," said Sarah McDowell, president of Opopop. "Pop Cups were born to make snacking more interactive, delicious and desirable, and we believe we have done just that. After a rewarding first year, and 100,000 lbs of handmade popcorn later, we're ecstatic to start 2022 with the launch of our Peel + Pour Popcorn Cups on National Popcorn Day."

Opopop says it reissued its beloved holiday flavor, Salty Caramel, for their Pop Cups. Each Peel + Pour Popcorn Cup is 40g of popcorn, which is about five cups popped, making it the perfect snack-sized portion. All pop cups are easy to use, mess free, recyclable, and microwave-ready.
