Welch’s Names Cees Talma as CEO to Drive Innovation and Strategic Growth

New leadership reflects focus on performance, product expansion, and alignment with evolving consumer values

Welch’s has appointed Cees Talma as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Talma succeeds Trevor Bynum, who held the position for nearly seven years and oversaw a period of transformative growth for the fruit-based food and beverage company.

Talma brings more than 30 years of experience across global food, beverage, and consumer goods industries, including leadership roles at Nature’s Way, Stasher, SC Johnson, and Unilever. His background includes work with both legacy brands and mission-driven startups, with an emphasis on aligning purpose, innovation, and performance—an approach increasingly relevant for product developers navigating shifting consumer demands.

For developers, Talma’s appointment signals potential changes in Welch’s innovation strategy, including continued movement into health-forward platforms and sustainability-driven product development. His prior experience in expanding product portfolios, implementing new go-to-market strategies, and scaling brands with a focus on wellness and function may offer early insight into where Welch’s product development is headed.

Welch’s remains owned by a cooperative of family farmers and continues to focus on quality, innovation, and grower-owner success under Talma’s leadership.
