November 30/M2 EquityBites -- McDonald's Inc. announced on November 29th the promotion of Neil Golden to the position of senior vice president and chief marketing officer, McDonald's USA, effective April 1, 2008.

Golden succeeds William Lamar, chief marketing officer, who will be retiring on that date. In his new role, Golden will oversee all aspects of national marketing for McDonald's USA, including collaboration and alignment with McDonald's Operator National Advertising Fund (OPNAD), for all the McDonald's restaurants in the United States.

Golden is currently vice president of Marketing, McDonald's USA. He also currently serves on the board of directors for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and the advisory board for the Suzuki-Orff School of Music. Prior to that, he had held a variety of field and home-office positions in the company. He joined McDonald's in 1989.
