May 12/Atchison, Kan./Prepared Foods-- Arya Tulva has joined MGP Ingredients Inc. (MGPI) as project engineer. In assuming the role, his focus will be on project management to include leading project teams in multiple facets, as well as managing relationships with outside engineering resources.

“We are excited to have Arya join our corporate engineering team,” said Scott Davids, director of engineering services. “Arya’s education and experience will improve the ability of corporate engineering to meet the needs of our internal customers. Initially, Arya’s focus is to learn MGPI’s plants and processes through an extensive training plan. When his training is complete, Arya will begin managing projects.”

From 2001 to 2006, Tulva was employed by Invista, which is a subsidiary of Koch Industries Inc., Wichita, Kan., at itslocation in Singapore. He began there as a day coordinator, managing the startup of a new plant from the construction phase to the final commissioning of the project. He later served for four years as process supervisor and safety coordinator at the company, accomplishing production management objectives, as well as operating the environmental, health and safety auditing system. In 2000, Tulva was junior manager for ITC Bhadrachalam Ltd. in Hyderabad, India.

Tulva is a graduate of Loyola Academy, Hyderabad, India, where he received a bachelor’s degree in chemical technology in 2000. He earned a master of science degree in environmental engineering at the National University of Singapore in 2004. Tulva also received an additional master of science degree in engineering management in January 2008 at the University of Kansas, Lawrence.
