October 2011/Prepared Foods-- Bacardi first ventured into the flavored rum segment more than a decade ago, with the launch of Bacardi Limon, which joined a multitude of lemon-flavored alcoholic beverages on the market. This, however, was the first in the rum category, and now, the nearly 150-year-old company is introducing another version of flavored rum.
Bacardi Blackheart

Bacardi Blackheart, per the company, is “a tribute to the modern-day adventurer.” It promises a bold flavor: a smooth, spiced rum with a hint of smokiness and a velvet-like smoothness. Aged in charred American white oak barrels, the dark rum promises natural flavors and spices, including maple, cinnamon, nutmeg, honey and vanilla. pf
