Peanut-free Option
Red River Commodities (RRC) says a wide range of food processors are expressing interest in SunButter, an industrial sunflower butter. Because of substantial growth in peanut allergies, more manufacturers are creating peanut-free products using SunButter, which provides a similar taste, texture and performance to peanut butter, says RRC. Likewise, RRC says more manufacturers are turning to SunButter as a result of worldwide peanut shortage and/or high prices on other nut butters.
