A launch from Starbucks would almost certainly boast a coffee extract, and Refreshers do not disappoint in that regard. The green coffee extract and real fruit juice provide a “natural boost of energy,” the company notes.

The extract, itself, is made from unroasted, 100% arabica beans, but Starbucks assures the two flavors, Very Berry Hibiscus and Cool Lime, taste nothing like traditional brewed coffee. Cliff Burrows, president, Starbucks Americas, explains: “The introduction of Starbucks Refreshers beverage platform, featuring green coffee extract, is an innovative extension of the coffee market.”

The Refreshers are available as hand-crafted options in Starbucks stores; as part of the chain’s VIA instant beverage line; and as a ready-to-drink beverage. The latter can be found in Raspberry Pomegranate, Strawberry Lemonade and Orange Melon varieties. pf
