December 20/Richmond, Va./Press Release -- Kraft Foods Group will invest $25 million to increase production of its Capri Sun beverages and install new packaging technology at its facility in Frederick County in Virginia. The project will create 25 new jobs.

The Kraft Winchester plant celebrated its 20-year anniversary in Frederick County in 2011. 

“We are delighted to be creating 25 jobs and making this significant investment here in Winchester,” said Dilton “Dee” Gibbs, plant manager of the Kraft Winchester facility.  “We have outstanding employees who continuously work at improving their skills and the efficiency of our facility.” 

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Frederick County and the Winchester-Frederick County Economic Development Commission to secure the project for Virginia. Governor McDonnell also approved a $250,000 performance-based grant from the Virginia Investment Partnership (VIP) program, an incentive available to existing Virginia companies. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide training assistance through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.

“Kraft Foods has been a key part of Frederick County’s growing cluster of food processing companies for more than 20 years, a span that has included numerous expansions,” commented Richard Shickle, chairman of the Frederick County Board of Supervisors. “We are pleased that Kraft has continued to invest in our community and look forward to providing a business environment that ensures their continued success in Frederick County."
