CoffeeProbiotics have proven a strong selling point in a variety of categories, notably in yogurts and, more recently, in drinkable yogurts. Nevertheless, the dietary fiber is expanding into other categories, and a pair of coffee introductions is the latest to showcase the functional ingredient.

Tipton Mills has added probiotics to its new Instant Coffee. With a suggested price of $5.49 for a six-pack or $32.49 for a case of 36, the instant coffee has been formulated with a special probiotic that can withstand heat and remain intact to fend off the bacteria and acids found in the stomach.

Furthermore, Tipton Mills notes the product actually could prove more beneficial than other applications featuring probiotics, claiming its Instant Coffee is “capable of offering 10 times the amount of probiotics found in most yogurt products.”
