July 29/Hesperia, Calif./PRNewswire -- Candy Crate, an online candy store, has identified the top 10 candies consumed during summer time in America. The survey was titled "What is Your Favorite Summer Time Candy?"  Findings for the July 2013 survey were based on 2100 responses from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Men and women, ages 18-70, cast their ballot for the sweet they enjoyed most during the summer season.  A mix of traditional, sweet and sour candies took the top ten positions, with Salt Water Taffy sweeping the top spot with more than 25% of the votes.

Other popular summer sweet treats that came in with 5% or less of the votes include Lemonheads, Licorice, Sweetarts, Pop Rocks, Warheads and a classic summer treat -- frozen chocolate bars (Charleston Chews, Milky Way and 3 Musketeers).
