The founder of Stockpot Soups, Kevin Fortun, returns to the category with a line of 12 varieties for foodservice and supermarket deli operators. Fortun Foods Inc., Kirkland, Wash., says new Fortun’s Finishing Touch Soups are gourmet, refrigerated and ready-to-serve. Varieties include Ultimate 3 Clam Chowder, New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Bisque with Cognac, Seafood Gumbo, Roasted Tomato Bisque, Cheddar & Broccoli, Smoked Salmon Chowder, Beef Chili with Beans, Lentil and Sweet Sausage, Azteca Chicken and Rice, Portuguese Sausage and Bean, and Classic Vegetable Beef and Barley. Fortun Foods says all products are free of preservatives, MSG and trans fat. “I’m incredibly thrilled to be back in the soup game,” says Fortun. “In my 30 years of experience in the industry, these are, by far, the best soups I’ve made.”
