Campbell's and TGI Fridays Team Up to Launch New Products

Line includes fresh refrigerated sides, soups and sauces

February 5, 2015

Campbell Soup Company has partnered with TGI Fridays to launch a line of fresh refrigerated sides, soups and sauces. The items, available now in select stores nationwide, will allow people to enjoy the authentic flavors and quality of FridaysTM-inspired menu options in their homes.

The line consists of fifteen products featuring new twists on old favorites such as Loaded Smashed Potatoes with Bacon, Bacon Mac & Cheese, Roasted Tomato Bisque with Bacon & Parmesan, Cheesy Chipotle Chili Sauce, and Korean BBQ sauce.

“By partnering with Campbell’s to provide convenient, ready-to-eat items inspired by our fresh restaurant favorites, we are expanding the opportunity for consumers to enjoy their favorite menu items at home,” said Brian Gies, chief marketing officer, TGI Fridays. “Fridays is dedicated to flavor and product innovation to satisfy consumers’ cravings for unique offerings; these sides, soups and sauces offer an ideal solution for any day of the week.”

Campbell’s Executive Chef, Away From Home, Richard Calladonato, who worked on developing the recipes said, “We have used bold, on-trend, popular flavors such as bacon, Korean spices and Creole Cajun influences to create top quality soups, sides and sauces that can be conveniently prepared in under 30 minutes.”

The selection of Fridays’ sauces also builds on the trend for premium dinner sauces designed to help people make delicious meals quickly, with only a few ingredients. According to the 2013 IRI Magnet Cooking Sauces Research, dinner sauces also drive sales of protein, including meat, poultry and fish, by up to 30% when compared to shoppers who do not purchase a dinner sauce.

The Fridays products are available in more than 550 stores nationwide including various Albertson’s divisions, Harris Teeter, Hy-Vee, Shaw’s, and Roundy’s, with plans in place to extend availability during the coming year.

The five sauces, four sides, and four soups are available in the fresh refrigerated section and retail between $4.29 and $5.99.
