Colleen Galieti has joined Avure Technologies as a Food Scientist at their Global Headquarters and Customer Center.

“Colleen’s technical background is a great addition to our food laboratory, which is the largest high pressure processing (HPP) test center in the world,” said Jeff Williams, CEO of Avure. “She’s part of the team that provides a unique service to food producers seeking to use HPP to develop healthier products with cleaner labels.”

“This is an exciting field to be in right now,” Galieti said. “With consumers seeking out food that isn’t full of chemical preservatives, the demand for food that uses HPP will grow exponentially. I’m especially eager to explore the positive ways HPP affects the ability of vitamins and minerals in food to be more easily accessed by the body, potentially making food more nutritious.”

Galieti received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry as well as a Master of Science degree in Food Science and Technology from The Ohio State University. Her graduate work focused on the high pressure processing of food and its effects on nutrition and shelf life. Galieti’s work has recently been published in the Journal of Immunology.

Avure’s FDA-certified food science lab assists customers in developing products that optimize taste and texture without the use of chemicals and other additives.
