Tropicale Foods, a manufacturer of frozen novelty products under the Helados Mexico brand, announced Steven Schiller as the company's next CEO. Schiller will succeed Ruben Gutierrez, Tropicale's Founder and former CEO, who will remain with the company as vice president of new business development and as a member of the Board of Directors.
 
Jose Luis Prado, board chair of Tropicale, commented, "As part of succession planning and a comprehensive search process, the Board of Directors of Tropicale are pleased to announce Steven Schiller as CEO. Steven will leverage his strong business acumen and leadership experience to launch Tropicale into its next chapter of growth."
 
Ruben Gutierrez, founder and former CEO of Tropicale, stated, "I want to welcome Steven to Tropicale Foods. Schiller brings nearly 30 years of highly relevant consumer packaged goods experience to Tropicale. Prior to joining Tropicale, Schiller spent 12 years with The Hershey Company, most recently serving on the executive leadership team as President International. Prior to The Hershey Company, Schiller served as Senior Vice President and chief marketing officer of Steak 'n Shake. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly 10 years at the Coca-Cola Company, lastly leading Coca-Cola classic for North America.Steven began his career in public accounting and then in various management roles at Colgate-Palmolive. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, Psychology, from The Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from The NYU Stern School of Business.
