January 19, 2022

Carnation Breakfast Essentials® announced its next generation of Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Original Nutritional Drinks and Powder Drink Mixes which have 25% less added sugars‡ when compared to the former drinks, while maintaining a kid-approved taste. The Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Original Nutritional Drink beverages are now available in Tetra Pak® cartons, made with responsibly sourced paper, and its iconic packaging features a distinctive and bright new look.

Conveniently available in ready-to-drink and powder formats, Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Original Nutritional Drinks and Powder Drink Mixes provide essential nutrients with protein plus 21 vitamins and minerals, including Vitamins C & D, key nutrients for immune support. Each 8fl-oz serving of a Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Original Nutritional Drink and each prepared serving of Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Original Nutritional Powder Drink Mix contains:

Protein to Support Growth and Help Build Muscle:
Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Original Nutritional Drink has 10g of protein, which is as much protein as 1½ large eggs.

Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Original Nutritional Powder Drink Mix has 13g of protein in each prepared serving, which is as much protein as two large eggs.

Vitamin C, a Key Nutrient for Immune Support:
Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Original Nutritional Drink and each prepared serving of Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Original Nutritional Powder Drink Mix provide 90mg or 100% of the Daily Value of Vitamin C, which is as much Vitamin C as a medium orange.

Calcium and Vitamin D to Help Build Strong Bones:
Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Original Nutritional Drink contains: 300 mg or 25% of the Daily Value of Calcium, which is 2X Calcium of a 5.3oz cup of Greek Yogurt, and 10 mcg or 50% of the Daily Value of Vitamin D, which is 3X Vitamin D of an 8fl-oz glass of milk.

Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Original Nutritional Powder Mix (when prepared as directed with 1 cup skim milk) contains: 500mg or 40% of the Daily Value of Calcium, which is 3X Calcium of a 5.3oz cup of Greek Yogurt, and 9.9mcg or 50% of the Daily Value of Vitamin D, which is 3X Vitamin D of an 8fl-oz glass of milk.

Carnation Breakfast Essentials® Original Nutritional Drinks have moved to Tetra Pak® cartons to help eliminate over 3.8 million pounds of plastic annually, while providing the same 8fl-oz (237mL) serving size. The new reclosable cartons are recyclable with the cap on, made mainly from paper, a renewable resource, with responsibly sourced wood fiber that meet the environmental and social standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).  The brand's mission, in alignment with Nestlé Health Science, is to make 100% of its packaging fully recyclable or re-useable by 2025.
