Food scientists can now reliably characterize the size and shape of particles between 0.8 µm and 8000 µm via analysis of their direct images. Anton Paar has designed its new Litesizer DIA 500 to be compatible with three powerful dispersion units: Liquid Flow (wet), Dry Jet (compressed air), and Free Fall (gravitational fall). Moreover, it’s easy to switch between with the “Quick-Click” feature in just one move.

Anton Paar has designed Litesizer DIA 500 with several automated features, including ones for filling, draining, and rinsing the dispersion liquid. Setting the feeding rate of dry samples is also automated.

With Kalliope, the instrument’s operating software, all important information from a measurement can be easily accessed on a one-page workspace. With Litesizer DIA 500, moreover, safety is a priority. Several safety features are also included that protect users from dangerous sample spread and the instrument from damage.

By using dynamic image analysis, the measuring technique behind the Litesizer DIA 500, users can directly measure without having to conduct statistical calculations based on physical parameters, giving them the possibility to detect single outlier particles in their overall sample population.
