In a recent study conducted by A&B Ingredients, the effectiveness of CytoGUARD® OX-WST was tested in whey protein isolate (WPI) and yeast protein. The stability of protein powders was assessed by measuring hexanal levels, a reliable indicator of lipid oxidation in proteins.

The results were clear and promising. Whey protein and yeast protein samples treated with 0.1% CytoGUARD® OX-WST exhibited significantly lower hexanal levels compared to the untreated control samples. This notable reduction in oxidation highlights the effectiveness of CytoGUARD® OX-WST at inhibiting oxidation in protein powders, ensuring product integrity and extending shelf life.
