ADM Flavor Chief Marie Wright Retires, Launches Consultancy
Industry icon ends a trailblazing corporate tenure to co-found Mystic Flavours and mentor the next generation of talent

Marie Wright, a globally recognized leader and innovator in the flavor industry, announced her retirement from ADM following a career both as a creator and leader in the ingredient industry. Most recently Wright served as president, creation, design & development and chief global flavorist at ADM, leading a team of over 1200 scientists across human and animal nutrition. She leaves behind a legacy of scientific advancement, business growth, and mentorship.
Wright embarks on a new chapter, following her passion for flavor as a consultant and co-founder of Mystic Flavours, alongside John Wright, while also mentoring emerging talent across the industry.
Wright’s stature in the industry is reflected not only in her corporate achievements but also in her numerous honors and service contributions. She was named a “Woman Worth Watching in STEM” by Profiles in Diversity Journal, recognizing her leadership, mentorship, and commitment to advancing diversity in science and technology.
Wright has been deeply involved in Women in Flavor & Fragrance Commerce (WFFC), serving on its executive board and in key leadership roles, and in 2019 she was appointed Treasurer of the WFFC Foundation, the organization’s philanthropic arm, helping to support women in business and the broader community.
Her expertise and insights have been widely shared at global industry and academic forums, including WFFC, IFT, Flavorcon, and NAFFS. Additionally, Wright has demonstrated a strong commitment to developing the next generation of flavor professionals through her mentorship program at ADM.
