Conagra Brands, Inc. is celebrating the summer with the debut of more than two dozen new products. More people are cooking and eating at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Birds Eye®, Marie Callender's®, Healthy Choice® and Snack Pack® are among the brands bringing new items to market to satisfy evolving consumer needs. The new items from Conagra Brands will be hitting store shelves this summer.

BENEO, one of the leading manufacturers of functional ingredients, has announced a 50% production capacity increase at its facility in Wijgmaal, Belgium. Officials say a two-stage, $56 million expansion responds to rising customer demand for its rice starches and will lead to increased capacity by March 2022. 

In April, during the height of the shelter-at-home orders, 37% of consumers told NPD they wanted to make sure they had sufficient snack foods on hand. They were well-stocked on salty snacks and frozen sweets more than other items.

The new nut snacks are available in five varieties, including Dry Roasted Peanuts, Honey Roasted Peanuts, Dry Roasted Sunflower Seed Kernels, Whole Cashews and Dry Roasted Almonds.

The new Plantain Tortilla Chips will come in two flavors, Himalayan Pink Salt and Lime & Sea Salt. Each bag contains golden brown chips made from seasoned ground plantains cooked in avocado oil for the perfect crunch to satisfy any salty craving.

Instead, each flavor’s level of spiciness is measured in quantifiable Scoville Heat Units (SHU), ranging from 5,840 to 38,700 heat units per chip.
