Sargento Promotes McEvoy in Food Ingredients

October 27/Plymouth, Wis./Sargento Foods Press Release -- Sargento Foods Inc. announced the promotion of Mike McEvoy to president and the retirement of Mike Gordy in its Food Ingredients Division.

McEvoy served as vice president of sales of the Sargento Food Ingredients Division for the past 18 months.  Prior to that, he was vice president of Portionables integration at Sargento, where he provided valuable insights into Portionables’ manufacturing capabilities and customer interactions.  McEvoy also served as general manager of Portionables, where he supervised operations, accounting and human resources. In his 12 years with Sargento, he also has held positions in operations, consumer product sales and marketing management.

“Under Mike McEvoy’s recent leadership, the Food Ingredients Division has developed a strategic plan and secured several significant new customers,” said Louis Gentine, president and chief customer officer at Sargento. “With his experience and knowledge of the division, as well as his experience within Shared Services and the Consumer Products Division, I am confident he will continue to drive the performance of the Food Ingredients Division.”

McEvoy earned his Bachelor of Arts from St. Norbert’s College and his Masters of Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University. A native of Milwaukee, he resides in Plymouth with his wife and three children.

McEvoy is replacing Mike Gordy, who is retiring after 32 years with Sargento. Gordy started his career in 1978 as regional sales manager and has since made significant contributions to the company in sales, marketing, operations and SAP implementation, including key roles as president -- consumer products division and president - food ingredients division. McEvoy and Gordy will work together through the end of the year to ensure a seamless transition.
