January 3/Indianapolis/Denver Business Journal-- Steak 'n Shake has pledged to freeze its menu prices through 2012.

"During 2012, we have no intention of raising menu prices, especially because we are attempting to insulate our customers from inflation while continuing to provide the finest in burgers and shakes," Sardar Biglari, the chain's chairman and CEO, said in a statement.

The company said its menu prices are uniform nationwide, including its Original Double Cheese Steakburger and Fires for $3.99 and milkshakes for $2.99. It said it will give away an orange freeze with purchase of a sandwich and fries through Thursday, Jan. 5.
