July 26/Punjab, India/Indian Times -- Danone announced the completion of its acquisition of Wockhardt Group's nutrition business. In early August 2011, Danone entered into an agreement with Wockhardt to acquire the group's nutrition business and brands as well as its related industrial operations from Carol Info Service.

With the completion of the deal, Danone has now formally entered India's baby food and medical nutrition market, with Dexolac, Farex, Nusobee and Protinex brands, respectively.

The new entity has been named Nutricia International Private Limited. Laurent Marcel has been appointed as the managing director of Nutricia Baby Nutrition & Shared Organization, while Anver Moola has been appointed as the managing director of Nutricia Medical Nutrition.
