Pumpkin Crème Pie
New Edwards Pumpkin Crème pie debuts in time for fall feasts.
“Just call it pumpkin pie—perfected.” That’s how Schwan’s Consumer Brands, Inc. Minneapolis, describes new Edwards Pumpkin Crème pie.
“Taking tradition one delicious step higher was our intent with the introduction of our Edwards Pumpkin Crème Pie, the first pumpkin crème pie on the market,” says Susan Allen, senior director brand marketing for Schwan’s Consumer Brands. “Crème pies continue to gain momentum in the supermarket and Edwards Pumpkin Crème Pie adds flair to festivities with a modern alternative to traditional pumpkin pie.”
Officials say the new Edwards pie starts with a vanilla-cookie crust infused with ginger and cinnamon. The company adds layers of crème cheese and pumpkin, and tops it off with a double layer of whipped-crème rosettes.
Schwan’s says that of 73% of consumers surveyed, Edwards Pumpkin Crème Pie is a perfect change from the classic pumpkin pie they traditionally serve, and 67% said they would buy Edwards Pumpkin Crème Pie in addition to their typical pie purchases this holiday season.
Edwards Pumpkin Crème whole-premium pie will be available Aug. 15 to Dec. 31, 2014, in freezer aisles at local grocers nationwide and retail for $8.49 a package. The layered thaw-and-serve pie will be available until Dec. 31, 2014.
