Comax Flavors has announced the appointment of Eric Junwu Xi, Ph.D., Vice President of Innovation. In this role, Xi will be responsible for managing global product and flavor development in the US and international markets with a focus on Asia. Xi will share his time between Comax’s corporate headquarters in the US and Shanghai Comax Flavors Co., Ltd. in China where he will be the company’s General Manager. "We're thrilled to have Eric join Comax’s team. Eric’s impressive background, industry insight and global experience will be an invaluable asset to our company and will be instrumental in the continued global growth of Comax Flavors. Comax has always focused on bringing new concepts to its customers through innovation, but this is the first time that we have a senior-level positon devoted to innovation," stated Catherine Armstrong, Vice President of Corporate Communications for Comax Flavors.

Xi joins Comax Flavors with 18 years of experience at Ottens Flavors where he most recently served as the Managing Director of Ottens’ Asia Regional Branch Office in Singapore. He held a number of R&D positions in management, flavor development, technology and analytics within the company. Xi holds a Ph.D. in flavor chemistry from Rutgers University, a MS degree in food science and nutrition from the University of Alabama and a BS degree in medicine from Jiao Tong University.
