Annie B’s Peppermint Bark was created by their chef/production manager, Peter Maccaroni, who was brought on board when the company merged with B.T. McElrath in 2015.

Maccaroni who is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, created the product using real white and dark chocolate and natural crushed candy canes.

Maccaroni’s approach was to use natural and quality ingredients.

“Most of the bark on today’s market is lacking the true taste of a peppermint bark. Consumers are overwhelmed by the peppermint flavor because it masks the waxiness of chocolate coating. When you taste this bark, you get the smooth richness of real white chocolate with the deepness of the dark. We don’t add additional peppermint oil and rely on the candy cane to bring forth the peppermint flavor. The result is a delicious chocolate/peppermint combination that is truly artisan.”

The bark is available in a 1-ounce cello, 3-ounce cello bag with red bow and 14.5-ounce gift tin and has a SRP of $2.00, $6.00 and $30.00 respectively.
