Bay State Milling: Ingredient Traceability

Bay State Milling releases “Partner Sourced Ingredients” Annual Report

June 1, 2018

Bay State Milling Company builds on transparency with the release of its initial Partner Sourced Ingredients Program Annual Report.

The objective of the Partner Sourced Ingredients Program is to develop enduring partnerships with growers and processors as well as actively engage those partners to provide resources that enable improvements in operational processes and product quality systems. The program also sets criteria for the identification and development of new supply chains for the company.

The Partner Sourced Ingredients Annual Report conveys the objectives of the program along with a set of metrics developed by the company to measure its progress in the development and fulfillment of established guiding principles. Performance against the metrics has been audited and verified by a third party industry expert to assess compliance and results.

In a marketplace where transparency is fundamental for manufacturers and consumers alike, the Partner Sourced Ingredients Program delivers on a number of foundational elements through direct long-term grower relationships including a traceable, consistent, and uninterrupted supply of safe, quality plant-based ingredients. These direct relationships, which range from two to 25 years with an average of 11 years, foster a higher quality of life for farmers and their communities and embody Bay State Milling’s commitment to sustainability.

“As an industry leader in the food traceability movement, the Partner Sourced Ingredient Program verifies our broad portfolio of on-trend, high quality ingredients sourced through direct partner relationships that allow for sustainable supply chains of scale throughout the various growing regions,” says David Sachs, vice president and general manager of Mini-Milling and Blending.
