Ferrara launched freeze-dried versions of three of its established candy brands—SweeTARTS, Lemonhead and Spree, expanding the company’s portfolio into a novel texture-driven format.
The products maintain the original flavor profiles of each brand but replace the chewy or hard textures with a light, crunchy bite created through freeze-drying. The 4oz packs will be available nationally at retailers such as Target and Walmart starting in September.
For product developers, the introduction highlights the growing application of freeze-drying technology beyond fruit and functional snacks into mainstream confectionery.
