Calbee Acquires Majority Stake in Hodo, Expanding Global Plant-Based Portfolio
Sagamiya Foods joins as minority investor, bringing technical expertise to accelerate growth

Hodo, Inc., a producer of organic tofu and sustainable plant proteins, announced that Calbee, Inc., a global leader in snacks and food products, acquired a majority stake in the company. The acquisition accelerates the growth of Calbee’s international and Food and Health businesses.
As part of this venture, Sagamiya Foods Co., Ltd., a tofu manufacturer in Japan, also acquired a minority stake in Hodo. Sagamiya will contribute technical support further strengthening the venture’s growth plans.
