Philadelphia Introduces Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting
Limited-time refrigerated frosting combines citrus flavor with a dairy-based cream cheese formulation for spring baking applications

Philadelphia is expanding its refrigerated frosting line with Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting, a limited-time offering positioned for spring and summer baking. The ready-to-use frosting blends lemon flavor with the brand’s cream cheese base and is sold in 16-oz tubs in the refrigerated cream cheese aisle. The product is rolling out nationally, including at Walmart, with a suggested retail price of $4.99.
The frosting is formulated with real milk and cream and contains no artificial flavors or dyes, aligning with ongoing clean label preferences in baking ingredients. One tub is designed to frost a 13 × 9-inch cake, an 8- or 9-inch two-layer cake or approximately 14 cupcakes. The lemon flavor extension builds on Philadelphia’s existing Original and Cinnamon cream cheese frostings.
For product developers, the launch highlights continued interest in seasonal citrus flavors, particularly lemon, which frequently peaks in baking-related searches during the spring. It also reflects growth in refrigerated, ready-to-use baking components, which offer convenience and fresh positioning compared with shelf-stable frostings. The product’s cream cheese base and refrigerated placement may also signal opportunities for dairy-forward frostings and dessert toppings that emphasize simple ingredient statements and natural flavors.
