New Frontier Foods, maker of Ocean's Halo® seaweed products, announced a significant expansion to its product lines and manufacturing capabilities, which debuted at 2017 Winter Fancy Foods show in San Francisco.

The new Mellow Snacks line launches with Mellow Fluffs, handmade marshmallow snacks that pair innovative flavors with the sweet, gooey-ness that consumers know and love.

The four new ready-to-eat popcorn varieties include Sea Salted Caramel, Confetti Cake, Belgian Waffle and Snickerdoodle.

Artisanal gourmet ghee brand Fourth & Heart, partnered with snack company LesserEvil to craft a ghee popcorn snack. The new product Oh My Ghee, is an organic, butter flavored popcorn that will showcase Fourth & Heart’s premium grass fed ghee for flavor.

Saffron Road is expanding its plant-based protein snack line with the addition of innovative new ChickBean Crisps – a baked snack made with high-protein lentils, yellow peas, garbanzo (chickpea) and sweet potato flours.

Made with ingredients like real butter and fresh cream, Werther's Original Caramel Popcorn is a treat for any occasion.

One of the key growth areas in the snacks category in recent years has been fruit-based snacks. Their share of global tracked snack launch activity recorded by Innova Market Insights has more than doubled from less than 8% to nearly 18%, over the past five years. This makes it the number three snacks sub-category overall after savory/salty snacks and snack nuts/seeds. 

Both Classic and Banana flavors of the pre-packed deep-fried Twinkies – found in the freezer aisle – are battered and flash fried before they’re frozen.
