American Key Food Products (AKFP) has launched its Organic Native Tapioca Starch, adding a versatile, clean-label ingredient to its portfolio of specialized cassava-based and organic offerings.

France’s Nexira, a world leading supplier of acacia gum, has designated Quadra Ingredients, Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, as Nexira’s exclusive Canadian distributor, effective April 1, 2021. This will replace a former agreement with L.V. Lomas.

Current laws under consideration call for government-sanctioned projects, which are underway to support the decarbonization of the industry, precipitating the arrival of environmental labelling. In response to these new needs, Nexira now has the ability to supply our customers with inavea™, the first line of carbon neutral ingredients.

The new tapioca starches enable brands to create tantalizing, process-tolerant textures, while appealing to consumer preferences for simple, familiar ingredients. Functional and versatile, the starches are ideal for a wide breadth of applications, including dairy and dairy alternatives, convenience sauces and ready meals, meat alternatives and pet food. 

The expansion includes the launch of new REZISTA® MAX thickening starches and BRIOGEL® gelling starches. These innovative tapioca starches will help food manufacturers deliver superior products thanks to their improved process tolerance, mouthfeel, fluidity and texture. The starches are suitable for use across dairy, soups, sauces and dressings, confectionery and more.

MGP Ingredients, Inc., production facilities in Atchison, Kan., and Lawrenceburg, Ind., achieved the highest possible score of Grade AA from BRCGS in 2020. BRCGS conducted virtual and on-site safety audits at the food ingredients and distillery operations in Atchison and at the Lawrenceburg distillery.

Nexira is using FI Europe Connect to highlight several new ingredients including Thixogum™ G, a natural stabilizer for plant-based drinks.
