General Mills Foodservice, Minneapolis, is helping K-12 school foodservice program spice up their à la carte offerings. This November saw the business introduce CinnaFuego Toast Crunch Cereal Bars. Officials say the 1oz equivalent grain cereal bars offer an on-trend “sweet heat” snack.

General Mills offered a preview of half a dozen new cereals set to hit retail shelves in January 2024. The brands set to release new items include Trix, Cheerios, Lucky Charms, Reese’s Puffs, and Nature Valley.

Golden West Food Group debuted its newest creation, Hershey's Frozen Fruit, in a licensing partnership with The Hershey Company. The new line of products combines real fruit with chocolate.

Ella's Flats are Certified Gluten Free, Non-GMO Project Verified, nut free, keto, paleo, vegan and are a plant-based whole food crafted with clean ingredients and without any grains, starches, sugars, oils, processed ingredients or preservatives. 

OJOY Wine Company introduced Sparkling Blanc, the flagship offering in its collection of fine dealcoholized wines. Sparkling Blanc delivers character and complexity, suited for the discerning palates of wine lovers.

Q: What do you foresee as the biggest flavor trends coming to the forefront in 2024?
Soumya Nair: Flavor trends are deeply rooted in the changing consumer priorities and in the coming year consumers’ priority in wanting conscious, empowered and comforting foods will gain significance.
