Simplot Food Group’s latest offering addresses growing interest in root vegetables.
Root vegetables are a hot trend in the National Restaurant Association’s “What’s Hot in 2014” culinary forecast. Simplot Food Group, Boise, Idaho, says it answered this trend with new RoastWorks Root Vegetables.
This prepared blend features six root vegetables that are individually roasted, then seasoned with a savory blend of rosemary, thyme and sage. The blend includes sweet potatoes, turnips, gold and purple potatoes, red onions and yellow carrots.
“An exceptional blend without the effort, this delicious mix adds remarkable flame-roasted taste and appeal to the plate, with none of the time and labor you would normally expect,” says Mandy Harrison marketing manager- RoastWorks. “Large, hand-cut appearance and beautiful colors give each plate a premium presentation that will impress restaurant guests.”
