Annie's Introduces Organic Grass Fed Macaroni & Cheese

New product is made with cheese from humanely raised cows with year-round access to pasture

October 8, 2014

Annie's, Inc. entered a new and growing category with a line of Organic Grass Fed Macaroni & Cheese. Annie's new Organic Grass Fed Macaroni & Cheese is certified organic and made with cheese from humanely raised cows with year-round access to pasture. Research also shows that milk from pasture-raised cows contains more CLA fatty acids than milk from cows fed mostly feed, plus grass fed farming helps sustain land and water.

"Annie's is excited to enter the Grass Fed category with an innovative new line of macaroni & cheese," said Amanda Steele, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Annie's. "We know consumer demand for grass fed products is growing. In fact, 92 percent of Annie's consumers surveyed noted that they purchase grass fed products2, including meat, dairy and yogurt. We expect that they'll be thrilled to see grass fed cheese in one of their favorite convenient meals."

Annie's new Grass Fed products are available in three varieties: Organic Grass Fed Shells & Real Aged Cheddar, Organic Grass Fed Shells & White Cheddar and Organic Grass Fed Classic Mild Cheddar. All varieties offer 10g of protein per serving and are made with high quality grass fed cheese from Rumiano Cheese Company, California's oldest family-owned cheese company whose cows are raised on pasture in Northern California and certified by the American Humane Association.3

As with all Annie's Organic Macaroni & Cheese varieties, Grass Fed Macaroni & Cheese is produced without antibiotics, synthetic hormones or persistent pesticides, and without the use of artificial flavors, synthetic colors or preservatives. Parents can feel good about the 8g of whole grains per serving in the Organic Grass Fed Shells & Real Aged Cheddar and Organic Grass Fed Classic Mild Cheddar varieties.
