Pure Foods launched Trail Chips™, a snack that puts trail mix nutrition in a thin, crispy chip.
Trail Chips™ are are made with simple, organic ingredients like ancient grains, berries and seeds.
“We wanted to take the delicious, nutritious ingredients you get in trail mix and make them into an easy-to-eat chip,” says John Frostad, CEO and founder of Pure Foods. “When you start with high-quality, non-GMO ingredients with great nutritional value, you end up with a naturally satisfying chip that is more than just a snack.”
Because Trail Chips™ are baked, they contain less fat than fried products. With 18g of whole grains per serving, along with 20% of the daily values of Vitamins A, C, D, E, B6 and Thiamine, they are also a good source of fiber.
“There is a growing demand for great-tasting, healthy alternatives to empty-calorie foods, especially among consumers with hectic schedules and active lifestyles,” Frostad says. “Trail Chips are perfect to pack along for a hike, send to school, take to the gym, or keep in the office for anytime you need to refuel. They’re great for trekking through your day!”
Two flavors are available: Wildberry Medley, which blends organic quinoa, pumpkin, sunflower and chia seeds with cranberries and blueberries. Tropical Medley is a combination of pineapple, coconut and banana. Both flavors are certified non-GMO, USDA Organic, gluten-free and kosher.
