Quaker Oats, Chef'd Develop Breakfast Kit

Overnight Oats are made up of layers of oats, dairy and favorite toppings like fruit or nuts

The Quaker Oats Company, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, Inc., is delivering oats to even more people by partnering with Chef'd to help launch its expansion into the breakfast category. Chef'd, a leading online meal-kit marketplace – and now one of the only to offer breakfast – will offer three Quaker-branded "Overnight Oats" meals, all featuring Quaker's Old Fashioned Oats.

"From introducing the iconic round canister to launching the first instant oatmeal, for the last 140 years Quaker has been finding innovative ways to help more people start the day with a delicious, nourishing oatmeal breakfast," said Becky Frankiewicz, senior vice president and general manager of Quaker Foods North America. "With more people than ever using meal-kit delivery services, our collaboration with Chef'd allows us to introduce more people to a new way of getting creative in the kitchen with oatmeal."

The three Quaker Overnight Oats meals – featuring Quaker's signature Blueberry Honey recipe and Chef'd's Strawberry Blueberry Maple Syrup and Dried Cherry Banana Pecan & Brown Sugar recipes – will be among the first breakfast meal options available for consumers to purchase on the Chef'd website.

"At Chef'd, we are constantly innovating and refreshing our offerings to meet the needs of today's consumer," said Kyle Ransford, Chef'd founder and CEO. "We've seen first-hand the growing demand for fun, flavorful, nourishing breakfast options, particularly among the millennial generation. It made perfect sense to launch this new category and partner with a trusted brand like Quaker that has been synonymous with high-quality breakfast for more than a century."

Trending Breakfast Meets Popular Meal Service

Overnight Oats are made up of layers of oats, dairy and favorite toppings like fruit or nuts in a mason jar that refrigerate overnight for a cool and creamy, yet hearty breakfast in the morning, with no additional prep needed. The trendy breakfast was popularized by consumers on Pinterest last summer and quickly became a sensation, even making it into Google's 2016 Food Trends report.

Like other meals available through Chef'd, consumers who order Overnight Oats will receive all the necessary, pre-portioned ingredients and step-by-step instructions for making the meal. The meal kits will also include a branded mason jar as well as additional Quaker Overnight Oats recipe cards.

Chef'd has an arsenal of more than 100 chefs from around the nation who have created more than 300 recipes featuring fresh, quality ingredients. Unlike other meal-kit delivery services, Chef'd gives consumers the choice to reorder meals at any time and provides meals without a subscription or membership fees, and also offers delivery within 1-2 days from the online order date.
