A US Food & Drug Administration’s Food Safety & Nutrition report found that more than 75% of consumers read ingredient lists on labels “often” or “sometimes” when they purchase, with nearly half (47%) “very” or “extremely” concerned about artificial ingredients such as synthetic colors.2
