BODYARMOR has launched a new Cherry Lime flavor, with a military camouflage celebratory bottle in honor of those who have served in the armed forces.

The beverage is the first caffeinated energy drink from Gatorade. It is designed for athletes with everything from formula (not carbonated, same flavors as Gatorade with 200mg caffeine + B vitamins) to design and packaging (resealable bottle for on-the-go).

Developed by Alternative Biologics, Inc., whose founders and team created protein drink category leader MUSCLE MILK, GYM WEED is the newest venture of products to help consumers train harder and live each moment to the fullest.

“New consumers are coming to the performance drink market as this category continues to grow beyond the sports market into the mainstream and an increasing number of Americans are making fitness and nutrition a priority,” noted Bill Meissner, Splash Beverage president and chief marketing officer.

In 2018, Coca-Cola initially acquired a 15% stake in BODYARMOR with a path to full ownership, based on a pre-determined discount. Coca-Cola is paying $5.6 billion in cash for the remaining 85% of the company.
