On Jan. 31, 2020, after a review of scientific research made available in a citizen petition initiated by Nexira and submitted in 2019, the FDA considered that the body of evidence brought by acacia gum manufacturers is not yet sufficient and seeks further evidence to support the dietary fiber status of acacia gum.
