Chicken of the Sea®, a provider of healthy responsibly-sourced seafood, launched Wild Catch, the company's latest innovative product line, which features premium, wild-caught and hand-selected cuts of fish packed with just water and sea salt.

Three flavors are being introduced in the launch: Chicken Bacon & Sharp Cheddar, Roasted Portabella & Swiss, and Granny Smith Apple & Gouda. All three varieties are gluten free.

BlueNalu, a food technology company developing cell-based seafood products, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pulmuone Co. Ltd., a leader in healthy lifestyle and environmentally-friendly food products headquartered in South Korea. Pulmuone also participated in BlueNalu’s A round of financing, which was announced earlier this year.

The Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA), the trade association representing 170 plant-based food companies, and Kroger, the largest grocery retailer in America, found that plant-based meat sales increased by 23% when those items were sold in the meat department.

The acquisition, led by Sonoma Brands managing director Kevin Murphy, follows Sonoma Brands’ acquisition of KRAVE from The Hershey Company in June 2020, thus joining two chef-crafted, premium jerky brands to create a powerhouse portfolio of brands within the meat snacking space. 

The culinary-focused product extension is the second evolution from the plant-based seafood brand, expanding beyond its existing portfolio of plant-based tuna.
