Hormel Foods once again took the National Restaurant Association show by storm with its one-of-a-kind 5,000sq-ft exhibit, which was built around a professional kitchen run by the Hormel Foods Culinary Collective.

This year’s recipients, who are being honored for their contributions throughout 2022, include brands ranging from two to 28 years on Whole Foods Market’s shelves. The awards, now in their 11th year, were previously called Supplier of the Year Awards.

With an approved label in hand, UPSIDE Foods is now working with USDA to obtain a Grant of Inspection (GOI) for its Engineering, Production, and Innovation Center (EPIC), the last remaining item in the pre-market regulatory process before the company can commercially produce and sell its cultivated chicken in the United States. 

With years of experience in product and project management at InnovAsian Cuisine, Continental Mills, Allrecipes, Starbucks, Monterey Gourmet Foods, and Amazon in the Seattle area, Rothman will help onboard and manage client innovation and product development projects with deep food industry knowledge and broad food experience in refrigerated, shelf-stable, and frozen categories.

The Twin Cities-based company was born out of necessity. Liam's Co-founder and CEO, Angie Nelson, is mom to a son, Liam, who lives with a handful of food allergies. Angie quickly learned how difficult it can be to find options fit for the whole family.

Hillenbrand, Coperion, and Purdue University hosted a dedication event at the Purdue Food Science Pilot Lab to commemorate the donation of a Coperion ZSK 27 Mv PLUS Extruder. The donated extruder, valued at more than $900,000 is an important addition to Purdue's Food Science Pilot Lab because it expands testing capabilities within the alternative protein food category and provides Purdue students with hands-on opportunities.

John Wm. Macy's products are distributed throughout the United States and Canada. Macy's will continue operations in Elmwood Park, N.J.

The 2022 New Product Pacesetters achieved a staggering $6.8 billion in combined year-one sales across food, beverage and nonfood solutions, compared to $6 billion in 2021 Pacesetter sales.

The majority of the proceeds will be used to support MyForest Foods’ retail growth and foodservice presence as it expands its footprint across the Eastern Seaboard, including New York City. 

The transaction, which transfers ownership of the company to MidOcean from the Ploen family, is designed to pave the way for new investment to expand capabilities and capacity, and to drive new levels of growth. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
