Soyummi Launches Allergen-friendly Smoothies
December 11/Montreal -- Soyummi Foods has launched COGO, a line of organic, single-serve, functional smoothies. Offered in six varieties: Dark Chocolate, Vanilla Coconut, Cappuccino, Chai, Mango and Strawberry, COGO is a blend of coconut milk, quinoa and millet flours, and inulin, a source of dietary fiber. This unique mix creates an incredibly nutritious beverage full of energy that tastes great. COGO is dairy and lactose free, non-GMO, fair trade, vegan and free of preservatives. In other words, consumers with a range of needs and taste preferences will be satisfied with these ready to drink smoothies.
The first coconut milk based beverage on the market, COGO takes full advantage of all the health benefits of coconuts and combines them with those of the super grains quinoa and millet. COGO’s blend of coconut milk, quinoa, millet and inulin is rich in nutrients, including vitamins and minerals, as well as amino acids, resulting in a balanced source of nutrition from good-saturated fat, fiber, sugar and protein that is a supply of stable energy for the body and is satiating.
In designing COGO, Soyummi used only all organic ingredients and nothing artificial. The Strawberry smoothie, for example, contains real strawberries, while the Cappuccino is brewed from 100% Arabica coffee. Additionally, each COGO flavor was formulated to offer specific functional benefits. The Chai, for example, is an ayurvedic beverage brewed with antioxidant-rich green tea and full of cinnamon, cardamon, ginger and cloves.
As a beverage, COGO responds to multiple occasions for use, whether it be consumers looking for a refrigerated coffee beverage, a sustainable energy drink, a healthier fruit smoothie or dairy free beverage. COGO was developed with organic, whole foods that are lactose, dairy, nut, peanut, gluten and soy free, making it suitable for vegetarians, vegans, celiacs, and consumers allergic to any of the top eight allergens. The makers of COGO source the coffee, cocoa powder, cane syrup and green tea from fair trade sources.
