April 24/Horsham, Pa. -- The Thomas’ brand, creator and baker of the original Nooks & Crannies English Muffins, has introduced its flavor of the year: Cinnamon Vanilla. This is the only newly created flavor Thomas’ will offer in 2014.
Thomas’ Cinnamon Vanilla English Muffins were inspired by fresh cinnamon buns straight out of the oven and promise 150 calories. It rolls out as part of Thomas’ new Limited Edition line, which will include different seasonally inspired flavors across the nation every three months.
- Cinnamon Vanilla English Muffins and Maple French Toast Bagels (through July 2014)
- Apple Pie English Muffins and Bagels (July - October 2014)
- Cranberry English Muffins and Bagels (October - December 2014)
Joining Thomas’ Cinnamon Vanilla English Muffins as part of this quarter’s rollout are the fan-favorite Thomas’ Maple French Toast Bagels, which return to store shelves after five years due to high demand of sweet flavors at the breakfast table.
A recent 2013 Technomic Dessert Consumer Trend Report revealed that dessert consumption is on the rise, as consumers have expanded their definition of sweets to include more nontraditional items and are increasingly eating desserts earlier in the day. The Thomas’ Limited Edition line was inspired by this trend, and brings back favorites from past years that prominently offer one sweet flavor that reflects the season, like the holiday Cranberry English Muffins and Bagels.
“People often rush to make and eat breakfast, and we wanted to give them more reasons to slow down and enjoy,” said Alicia Rosas, category director, Thomas’ Bagels. “We all know how satisfying it is to smell delicious baked goods, so when developing our new Limited Edition line, it was important that the aroma was just as sweet and enticing as the taste.”
The Limited Edition Cinnamon Vanilla English Muffins and Maple French Toast Bagels are now available nationwide. All varieties can be found in mass retail stores like Walmart, for a suggested retail price between $3.99 and $4.69.
