Immunity Plus

Combine an immunity boost and antioxidant effects into one beverage with Watson’s Wellness premix.  In the Health Focus 2010 report, 56% of those between 18 and 29 years old were interested in improving their immunity.  Immunity is also a major health concern for 45% of those ages 30 to 49 and 35% older than 50 years old. Vitamins C and E and selenium enhance beta carotene for protection against free radical damage as the antioxidant feature.  Vitamin C and D, zinc, and lysine in the premix act to strengthen the immune system. Watson uses betaClear, a product that allows beverages infused with beta carotene to have a clear appearance.  Clear-E is used for vitamin E infused beverages where the solution remains clear as well.  Wellness provides 25% daily value for beta carotene, 30% for vitamin E, 50% for zinc, 100% for vitamin C, 50% for selenium, and 200% for vitamin D.

Sugar-Free Immunity Drink

Jungbunzlauer used Supply Side West 2013 to sample an all-natural, non-GMO, zero-calorie, sugar-free Immunity Shot, showcasing two exceptional ingredients. The “immunity shot” was  sweetened naturally with ERYLITE Stevia, a unique blend of erythritol and Stevia, which has no additives, provides a sugar-like sweetness and taste, and has a zero glycemic index. Additionally, it was highly fortified with Jungbunzlauer’s fully-reacted Zinc Citrate, providing an excellent source of zinc (50% DV per each 15 ml.), which contributes to the healthy functioning of a normal immune system. Jungbunzlauer provides key solutions with safe ingredients, manufactured utilizing the natural process of fermentation technology.

Natural Immune Support

Lonza offers ResistAid, a proprietary natural immune support ingredient made from larch trees that grow in abundance in the United States. ResistAid consists of the soluble polysaccharide arabinogalactan and bioactive polyphenolic flavonoids—and thus, has antioxidant capacity. ResistAid is formulated to deliver triple action immune benefits year round.  ResistAid supports both the innate and adaptive immune responses as well as gastrointestinal health. Clinical study results indicate that ResistAid has the ability to modulate and support both arms of the immune system and provide benefit from antioxidant capacity. ResistAid has a number of technical properties that make it easy to incorporate into dietary supplements and functional foods in standalone form or combined with other products to increase functionality.  ResistAid is highly soluble, dissolving completely in hot or cold water.  It is stable at a wide range of temperatures and pH.  In beverages it keeps its functionality and neither degrades or hydrolyzes. ResistAid is certified Kosher and self-affirmed GRAS.

Acerola Extract

Popularly known as Barbados cherry, acerola is widely consumed in Brazil as a natural anti-inflammatory, or stimulant for the liver. In North America, acerola use mostly targets its high content of vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant. The most frequent traditional use of Acerola is linked to its immunity boosting, anti-aging, and antiseptic properties. Thanks to its agronomic expertise, close partnerships with the growers, and extraction expertise, Diana, Food Division has developed a range of acerola extracts standardized up to 34% of its natural and native vitamin C. The bioavailability of vitamin C depends on the food matrix. This was already known since an in vivo study (Vinson et al.1988) which showed that natural vitamin C was 35% more bioavailable than synthetic vitamin C. This has been confirmed by the study of Ushida et al., in 2011, which indicated that, when consumed from acerola juice, the vitamin C is effective two times longer in the body than ascorbic acid alone. Acerola comes in several forms and may be customized for various finished product uses.
