Premier Nutrition Corp., Emeryville, Calif., used last fall’s National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) annual show to introduce PowerBar Jerky & Nut Savory Snack Bars.
PowerBar says new Jerky & Nut Savory Snack Bars are made with “wholesome, simple ingredients and offer unique savory flavors with a balance of sweetness.” Jerky pieces come from 100% American beef and the bars contain no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or colors. Officials note the new line fits the company’s “Clean Start” initiative (started in January 2017) to embrace cleaner ingredient labels and bold flavors.

Last June also saw Premier Nutrition introduce PowerBar Plant Protein Bars. Those items also come in three varieties: Dark Chocolate Almond Sea Salt, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter and Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel Cashew.
Premier Nutrition is part of the “Active Nutrition” group at Post Holdings Inc., St. Louis. Its group businesses include Premier Nutrition (PowerBar, Premier Protein, Joint Juice, Superior Protein brands) and Dymatize (Dymatize brand).
