Glanbia Nutritionals, a leading global ingredients manufacturer and formulation specialist, used SupplySide West to showcases its functional and nutritional ingredients in a range of on-trend prototype products.

Visitors sampled prototype bar applications such as the Simple Probiotic Bar, an excellent source of ALA-omega 3. A clean label item with only six ingredients, this nutritious snack is a good example of Glanbia Nutritionals’ bar formulation expertise.

The recipe includes BarPro™, a partially hydrolized milk protein concentrate with a creamy dairy note; BevGrad® Chia, super-finely milled for a smoother texture; and Ganeden BC30®, a shelf-stable probiotic with 15 billion cfu/g, for improved digestive health and a stronger immune system. Glanbia Nutritionals’ dedicated flavor experts helped create flavor nuances in prototype Cookies ‘n’ Crème bar.

Also sampled was a High Protein / Fiber Cardio Bar. With 15g of high quality protein and fiber in each bar, it is the ideal solution for sports nutrition. Harnessing the nutritional benefits of MenaQ7® PURE, a nature identical Vitamin K2, and the functional properties of BarPro™ 283, a milk protein concentrate designed for enhanced softness and extended shelf life, the High Protein / Fiber Cardio Bar has significant beneficial effects on bone and cardiovascular health.

Highlighting the formulation expertise in beverage applications, Glanbia Nutritionals also sampled its Energy Chia Smoothie, a beverage including the ALA-omega 3 and fiber benefits of BevGrad® Chia. Glanbia Nutritionals’ Energy Premix contains NutraShield™ caffeine. This encapsulation technology improves caffeine taste, and Carnipure™ Carnitine, which provides sustained energy in stable beverage formulations.

Also included in the premix is Chromax® Chromium Picolinate, with B vitamins, a natural source of energy to aid metabolism support. The smoothie contains OptiSol® 1061, a true Greek yogurt powder that enables manufactures to introduce this desired ingredient in diverse food and beverage applications. Grade A and rBST free, its primary function is to create an authentic Greek yogurt flavor profile in beverages, bars, dairy foods, dips and sauces.
