"Innovation usually requires input from a full range of specialists and vantage points,” notes Loretta Zapp, CEO of Applied Food Sciences. “We believe that when diverse minds gather in one place, fresh ideas can be created, and new opportunities can be discovered.”

CEOs, food scientists, regulatory and marketing experts presented new ingredients, market opportunities, and product innovations in a focused, friendly setting. AFS retreats cultivate working relationships in the natural products industry, which help bring the new ideas to market.

“AFS has been hosting annual innovation retreats for several years, and the feedback has always been overwhelmingly positive,” Zapp continues. “We value the input from all who attended and appreciate the time spent creating and sharing innovative ideas of what's next in the world of sports nutrition.”

Steve French is a managing partner at NMI, which developed a market research presentation for the conference.

"AFS retreats provide a fantastic forum for the exploration of new ideas which assist companies both large and small across the value chain. It’s a real breath of fresh air," says French.
