For more than 10 years, Kraft Heinz’s Brazilian operations have relied on Tetra Pak’s Tetra Brik® Aseptic Base packages for the company’s Quero brand mayonnaise.

The Tetra Brik Aseptic Base is one of the world’s most efficient packages. Its rectangular shape means it stacks and stores easily whether on a pallet or shelf (for manufacturers and retailers) or in the consumer’s home refrigerator. Most of all, it offers manufacturers a cost-effective solution for packaging a range of food and drink products, including dips and sauces.

Kraft Heinz operations also have completely integrated and installed Tetra Pak’s related processing and packaging equipment. This includes Tetra Pak® High Shear Mixer, automation, and high hygienic buffer tanks. These are connected to Tetra Pak® Simply 8 for Tetra Brik® Aseptic 1000 and a CIP station—all for a complete and full line solution.

Mayonnaise is a tricky product to process and pack because its formulation means it can behave either as a solid or a liquid. With Tetra Pak’s integrated, full line, Kraft Heinz can more easily optimize production methods and fine tune equipment in response to product variations. For example, operations personnel can more easily adjust processing parameters according to ingredients or scale of operation—for quality results every time.

Quero mayonnaise and sauces are packaged in two varieties of the Tetra Brik Aseptic Base package. There’s 1000ml version designed for foodservice use. Foodservice operators and distributors appreciate ease of storage and the good combination of quality and price. Meanwhile, a 250ml version is particularly popular in Brazil’s northeastern region, where Tetra Pak’s brand equity is particularly strong.
