Ingredion Incorporated launched three new organic native starches for the US and Canada, PURITY® Bio 201 organic native corn starch, PURITY Bio 301 organic native tapioca starch and PURITY Bio 805 organic native waxy rice starch at SHIFT20.   

The Sweet Earth® Awesome Bacon Burger is a smoky plant-based burger infused with vegan bacon bits. Made of textured pea protein, this plant-based burger contains 26g of protein per serving (27% DV) and is non-GMO project certified.

BENEO, one of the leading manufacturers of functional ingredients, has announced a 50% production capacity increase at its facility in Wijgmaal, Belgium. Officials say a two-stage, $56 million expansion responds to rising customer demand for its rice starches and will lead to increased capacity by March 2022.

The Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA), the trade association representing 170 plant-based food companies, and Kroger, the largest grocery retailer in America, found that plant-based meat sales increased by 23% when those items were sold in the meat department.
